- In an interim decision issued Dec 11, a federal judge
ruled that Microsoft cannot require bundling of Windows
95 with Internet Explorer, but failed to grant the
Justice Department's request that Microsoft be fined $1
million a day in penalties.

few months in the Internet ring is enough to make
Netscape Communications Corp.'s Communicator 4.0 a
veteran, with known strengths and weaknesses. Microsoft
Corp.'s recently released Internet Explorer 4.0 shows
more fancy footwork than Communicator, but may reveal a
glass jaw when exposed to the pressure of regular use

- In Oct 96, Novell changed its Netware name to
IntranetWare the next Version 5.0 will revive the
Netware name.
- Lotus claims a 26% share of the desktop Suite market.
- A memory architecture change is expected in a little over
a year to catch up to CPU advances CPU performance
has increased 60-fold while memory has done so only
5-fold.
- Intel is realigning business units and product offering
rather than offering one-size-fits-all, the
Pentium II product line will be developed into small /
medium / large system models.
